Emma Stone, Julianne Moore or Florence Welch; Ed Sheeran, Rupert Grint or Prince Harry. Common features? They are all famous, gorgeous, kind and extremely talented, but not only. These people share the same endangered gene that has made them become... ginger!
About a month ago, the American Vogue has shared on its website an article entitled "Why Red Is the Statement Hair Color of the Summer". With pictures of gorgeous ginger actresses and models, artificial or natural, the article quotes a statement from redhead actress Jessica Joffe, which says:
"The thing most redheads will tell you is that they hate it when they're kids because [of] teasing. But as soon as you become an adult, everyone loves it. People never stop talking about it”.
To be honest, I believe this quote sums up the life of a natural ginger/redhead person. You cannot way to get rid of that colour when you're a kid or a teen, but cherish it as soon as you understand how extra-ordinary it is.
For the past months, people's appreciation of redheads and gingers has grown a thousand times. I have first observed it with the brand HowToBeARedhead (present as well on social media) which was created by the two redhead sisters, Stephanie and Adrienne Vendetti. Tips to take care of your skin, ideas to make your freckles even more stunning, and your eyebrows perfectly lined, the website is helping many redhead girls in their teenage years to realise how amazingly cool they are, and helps the rest of us to find a reminder of it.
But lately, some people have found the craziest, yet wonderful, idea for people to understand the life with a ginger point of view. Tumblr. and Instagram accounts "Put A Rang On It" have decided to ginger-up many celebrities. From the Kardashians to Chris Hemsworth, and Barack Obama, many celebrities have seen their hair changed into different shades of orange, their skins spotted with freckles.
By doing this, the people behind this account show the world than being ginger or redhead does not correspond to only 2 different oranges. Indeed, with way more than 50 shades of oranges available, the colour of your hair has to suit your skin - unless you want to look like an unnatural ginger.
With 10,000 followers on Instagram in less than a months, and many more on Tumblr., the phenomenon has also been featured in many newspaper and magazine articles.
And this is because of this account that I have decided to write this post today, and to make this week my personal ginger and redhead appreciation week. So, without further ado, let's this orange week start now!

Have a good day,
