Clémence Poésy (1982 - ) is a wonderful young French actress who has proven so many times that she has many years ago mastered a sort of minimalist look. Internationally known for playing Fleur Delacour in the Harry Potter saga in 2005, for which she had to fake a very strong French accent, Poésy is also known for playing Le Grand Meaulnes and 127 Hours. Perfectly bilingual, she has gave the line to this year Academy Awards winner Eddie Redmayne in the TV-serial Birdsong in 2012. She hasalso appeared in a few episodes of Gossip Girl as Chuck Bass's girlfriend he lived with in Paris.
In 2007, Clémence Poésy was chosen to become one of the spokesmodels for the Chloé perfume for the eponym brand. She was later on chosen to be the face of fashion brands such as Gap and G-Star Raw. Thanks to her great sense of style and a fabulous presence, she was featured in many magazines; she did the covers of different publications such as i-D, Jalouse and Nylon.

Clémence Poésy has also proven over the years that she is one of the new images of the élégance à la française. Beautiful, fresh, mysterious, determined, cheeky, funny, reserved and shy, she has managed to transfer into her style the image of herself that she shares with the world, or the other way around. Her clothes are pretty, comfortable (or at least look like it), and straight to the point, simple and meaningful, monochrome but yet colourful; this is why I consider it to be the French Minimalism, or simple minimalism in ready-to-wear fashion. But sometimes she also expresses in her style a je-ne-sais-quoi of the British culture which was probably influenced by the street style of the UK, where she moved to at the beginning of her career. This not only makes her become unique, but it also makes her become a fashion icon.

With long hair or short hair, with a fringe or not, make-up free or with make-up or, French minimalism or a British je-ne-sais-quoi, over the years Clémence Poésy has become this now-growing fashion icon that a lot of people admire and are influenced by. As often, this week, I have chosen Clémence Poésy to not only be my role-model of French person living in the UK, but also the person who influences my one-on-one date with my wardrobe every morning. She is my fashion inspiration.
