From 2014 to 2015

01 January 2015

Happy New Year 2015 to all of you.
I wish you all the best, hoping that your year will be filled of
happiness, success, friendship, health and love.

If I had to talk about my year 2014, this article would be 10 pages long and would be quite boring for most of you. However it has been such a great year for me that I feel the need to share a few of my memories from 2014 with you, a few things that made my year and are at the origin of 2015.

2014 marked the first entire year I lived abroad, my first entire year in London. I have finished my first University Year and started the second. I've received the official diploma for my first Bachelor. I started a blog in January that made me realise I had to create another blog, a blog to which I could really identify: Frenchie Fringe. I have created my YouTube channel, and along with my blog, I have managed to express my ideas to the fullest, to share my creativity with you.

In 2014 I have moved in with my flatmates and faced the joy of living with people. Advantages and withdraws, these moments of sharing life events make me of them like a second family. I have also met new people and decided to talk more to the one I already knew. And these people changed me to make me become who I am now. I travelled back and forth between the UK and France, I travelled to visit my friends, to meet new people. It helped me to improve my view of the world, to become less of a child. I would say I grew up as a person, as a friend, as a daughter, as a sister.

• A year in pictures:

Last picture of 2013, first picture of 2014, this shot of La Grand Place de Lille
during Christmas time marked the end of the year as well as the end of
the holiday. Next stop London.

First days of February and one of the first time I used the hashtag
#fromwhereIstand - giving me the idea of having a "fashion" category
on my blog. (coat: Zara, jeans: Uniqlo, shoes: Clarks, bag: Sessun).

First signs of a early-spring Sun, March was a month of a very
early summer with its wonderful colours and temperatures making
everyone forget their winter clothes and their sad faces. Happiness
and colourful London are what I will remember last March for.

*

In April, the Sun and its great temperatures were still there. And
it was the perfect timing for the Easter break - and my visit to my
friends and family in France. April also marked my first time in
Paris in 2014.

May was a months of new opportunities, of deadlines, and of the end
of my first year in an university abroad. This image was taken from
my friend's photo exhibition "Clue:Coldin London, an exhibition
full of talent and surprises.

In June, the Sun was back and there to stay. Perfect for visiting London
and walking everywhere, especially from museums to museums.
This picture, one of my favourite of the year, is of a painting of
Jean-Paul Gaultier during the exhibition in the Barbican museum
celebration the career of this great French fashion designer.

July was the month of great changes in my life. The most important
one being the end of my 41-week contract at the student accommodation
I moved to as soon as I left the Eurostar for the first time.
July was also the moment I started this blog, which makes me happier
and twice as busy as I could be before.

*

August or times of travel: London, Lille, Paris and for the first time
Porto. This month was the period of time I saw the most of
my friends from everywhere. New and old friends, friends I meet
everyday and those I can only see twice a year. Loved it.

Moving back to London. Moving in. Back to university. September
was another month of great changes for this year 2014, stressful but

happy changes.

*

Image of the Tower of London during the Poppies display - piece of
art created to remember the death of the First World War.

Powerful and colourful image, important for me in October
as I was by the display once a week, minimum.

*

November was a moment of great opportunities that the university
offered us: visit of City Hall, visit of the BBC Radio 4 during Jeremy
Vine's show, talk from great British journalists who helped
the profession to become what it is today - like a lot of journalists
out there.

December 2014. Christmas time but not only. It was also the moment
I decided to review the concerts I went to, some books I read, some
product I got. Making me realise that reviewing concerts and books
was what I loved the most, the blog has changed its design, which
is the first step of FrenchieFringe 2.0.
