A movie night with Austin Powers.

01 August 2015

Away from the fuss of Regent's Street and yet it the middle of the excitement of Soho, this is the cinema room of the Sanctum Hotel Soho that EF EnglishTown had chosen to set up a movie night on Wednesday. In the room were gathered many international people to enjoy a proper British night; from the drinks to the food, to the movie chosen, Austin Powers, everything there had a wonderful taste of Britain.

EF EnglishTown - for Education First EnglishTown - is an online school that offers 16 learning levels to achieve fluency in English. Providing group class conversation, interactive learning, preparation to TOEFL and TOEIC tests, and many other features, the school offers some of the most efficient courses to learn a new language. With a £1 30-day trial, you can see by yourself if the school, which just celebrated the 50-year anniversary of its creation, was made for you . By learning with EF EnglishTown, an award-winning school for its English learning method, you have the insurance of receiving an effective education of the language of Shakespeare, just like over 20 million people who, before you, gained the English skills they need in their lives.

If you are French, just like me, and wish to take the online courses, here is the link for you *here*. And if you are from any other country, here is the UK website where you can learn more about it *here*.

With the online course, you would receive a pair of headphones, a notebook, a grammar guide and many other essentials that would make your time learning more enjoyable.

Before switching off the lights and brightening up our lives with the inimitable Austin Powers, the Sanctum Hotel Soho prepared for us different samples of the English delicacies that everyone should try at least once in their lives.

'God Save the Queen' say the British, and this is why references to Her Majesty made their apparitions on the bar. Coronation Chicken, aka one of the best way of cooking chicken, was served with (or without) a potato salad and the Queen's favourite cocktail: Dubonnet. More than a delicacy, this cocktail is heaven!

Mini fish and chips were served in the cutest way possible next to some Bangers and mash; a way to show that the UK might be close to the continent, they are still surrounded with water.

And obviously, when it is summer in England, no one can resist a Pimm's - or more than one - followed by its friend, Gin & Tonic that anyone can enjoy regardless the season, weather or mood. It's always a good time for a G&T when you live in the UK, especially when you are based in London, isn't it.
Have a good day,
xx
