- My Little Frenchie Box -

12 February 2015

For those of you who don't know the concept of My Little Box, I will start this post with a brief summary of the article I wrote a few months ago. My Little Box is a beauty and lifestyle box which was created in France in 2013, following the success of My Little Paris (a website which shares the best addresses in Paris).

In September 2014, the brand decided to export the concept of My Little Box across the Channel to reach French people living there, but also to increase the number of members. For only £11 a month (+£3,95 for postage and packing), you receive a unique box containing a magazine, a couple of lifestyle object and a few cosmetics. You can cancel your membership at any time if you are unhappy with the box -- which you probably won't ever be.

In the "Treat a Friend" section of the website, you have the chance to offer the box to a family member or a friend for 3 months, 6 months or a year and make them discover a new surprise each month.

You can also subscribe to the My Little App, which is available of the AppStore and Google Play and works both in France and in the UK, to get wallpapers for your phones, DIY tutorials, recipes, best addresses, etc. My Little Paris is worth to be known.

Yesterday I have received My Little Frenchie Box which was the first I have received since November - as I have cancelled the box for two months in a row. As I did not expect to receive it so early in the month, I was extremely surprise when I saw Kanako's drawing of Ines de La Fressange on a tricolour box.

Almost obviously, My Little Frenchie Box has for recurring theme three colours of the French flag: Blue, White and Red; three colours that most of the French refuse to wear together, even though they look perfect as a trio.

          • Lifestyle items:

Inside of the box where the usual My Little World magazine and the quote, which is already sticked to the wall in my room - the inspiration wall. When on one side of the quote you can read a quick biography of Ines de La Fressange, on the other side, next to another of Kanako's drawings, the model from the 80s - and a Chanel muse at the same period, says: "Life is never what it seems - and that's the great thing about it".

The first lifestyle gift you find in this month's box is a red smartphone case designed by the Ines de La Fressange. Big enough to contain a iPhone 6 Plus, the case is made of a nice red canvas - decorated with white and blue dots - with the bottom part made of PU to form a pocket (£16).

The second lifestyle item is a small jar containing "Les mots d'Ines" - Ines's quotes. I haven't had the time to read all of them, but those I have read where very inspirational. All made for women to feel happy, powerful, beautiful and wonderful at the beginning of the day, or as they say "28 messages that will brighten up your day". (£6,50) Thank you, Ines!

          • The cosmetics bag

The cosmetics bag, or the magic bag, is once again full of very useful makeup or cream every one needs.

Last November, when I have received the box for the last time, I have been very excited when realising I have received a mascara, as it meant I didn't have to spend ages to a makeup store to find one. (And you can watch my reaction here as I had decided to open the box in front of a camera)

Well yesterday I was facing the same problem; the mascara I had received in November is about to be finished. Believe me, I was extremely happy to find a Super Liner Brown Artist Plumper by L'Oréal Paris, until I realised it was a eyebrow mascara. (£5.99)

This month, we also received a waterproof terrybly khôl pencil by Terry . Its colour? Glittery black, which will give your eyes a mysterious colour, making them even more attractive. (£23)

*

As usual, My Little Box offers this month a item from their own beauty brand, called My Little Beauty. This month they offered us a Complexion Enhancer - Glowing skin that you can find on their website (My Little Corner). (£9.50)

*

The last item we have received is a DHC Blotting Paper, which I believe is a oil-absorbing paper for your skin. As I have not yet understood the concept, I will come back to you for this article. (£4.00 for 100 sheets)
