This activity is in decrease. In a society where technology has become so important in everyone's everyday life, reading a book starts to become a very uncommon activity in the young generation. I am talking about reading a paper-printed book, not a e-version that you can read on a tablet thanks to Kindle or iBook. How many time have I heard: "There's no need to read the book; they have made a film out of it" or "I can't be ask to read this book. I'll buy/download the movie instead". Or even "320 pages?! Nope!"
I'm not going to lie, it took me a while to understand why my relatives would rather read during a day-off than watching TV all-day long laying on the sofa like Homer Simpson. Now that I get it, I just love it. And when I see people reading in transport, my first reflex after trying to read the title of the book is to study the reader's facial expressions to know if it's worth going onto the list. It sounds creepy, I know.

I truly believe that I must not be the only one who wish to have an interaction with a man, which is believed to only happen in Hollywood movies. That kind of interactions when you realise that the extremely good-looking man seating next to you (or opposite you) is reading the exact same book. You both stare at each other, smile at one another. He opens his mouth to say something and ... Oh wait! This is your stop... And you regret for the next year not to have talked to this hot stranger that you will never see again. Your life is not a Hollywood movie after all.

For some of them, the reason they would read is exactly the same as women's. And they would look at the other leave the train and regretting having looked at them, because now, they have to start reading the page all over again.
For some others, it would be to impress their mates - or future birds. To prove that they are "hot enough" to be on an Instagram called 'HOT DUDES'. High five!
