FROM THE WORLD WIDE WEB, WITH LOVE.

17 July 2014

The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee. Twenty-five years later, Sir Tim Berners-Lee's invention became more present in our lives than originally expected.

In twenty-five years of new networks and website - such as Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest - were invented and allow artists to share their talents with the rest of the world.

This section of the blog presents what I liked the prior week whilst wandering on the web. Everything I liked that might interest you too. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I am.

Jenny Lewis - Just One of the Guys

I am definitely in love with this song - and this video. Refreshing. Fun. True. Nostalgic. A sort of hymn to today's women. Avant-gout of Jenny Lewis's upcoming album The Voyager, the third as a solo artist - which is out on July 29 - this song can also be part of a "holiday playlist" and help anyone to enjoy a summer day of procrastination sitting in a park or on the beach.
The video features the singer surrounded by Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Brie Larson.
Jenny Lewis used to be the frontwoman of the indie-rock/indie-pop band from Los Angeles, Rilo Kiley.

Extra point: She is a ginger with a fringe... ! Can't help but to like her. ;)

My Little Paris

Summer has finally arrive, and is supposed to stay!

My Little Paris. You may have heard of it even though you are not from France. A website full of things to do in Paris linked to its Facebook page which very often shares drawings or playlists that give us, women, things to smile about. Another way to give women the chance to feel confident after a difficult day, or happy while the weather is horrible outside for days.
I'd say that My Little Paris and all the other concepts from the same brand - such as My Little Box - are a good way to waste a few minutes online.

Shonda Rhimes's new TV-show

How To Get Away With Murder is the upcoming TV-show produced by Grey's Anatomy's mother: Shonda Rhimes. This teaser, one of the best this summer, reveals a promising casting with Viola Davis in the lead role and Alfred Enoch - who portrayed Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter films.

News:

Marvel's "Avengers NOW!"

Source: Entertainment Weekly

Marvel reveals the new look of the heroes people know, the Avengers. In the new comics Avengers NOW!, Iron Man's costume is less colourful, and more... classy! Captain America is now African-American when Thor is now... a woman!
I guess I would like to see Chris Hemsworth portray this new version of the extra-terrestrial hero, just for fun!
